Ranthambore National Park is a paradise for birdwatchers and photographers. It is home to more than 40 species of mammals and approximately 320 species of birds. The park is spread over 1700 sq km which is famous for its tiger population. Known for its rich culture and heritage, Ranthambore used to be the royal hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur.

Ranthambore National Park is well connected by road from the major cities of Rajasthan, such as Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, and Ajmer, as well as from the capitals of other states, such as Delhi, Chandigarh and Lucknow. You can travel by bus from most of the major cities of Rajasthan, where both Government and Non-Government buses run on a regular basis.

Sawai Madhopur railway station is the nearest railway station to Ranthambore National Park. Trains from cities such as Jaipur, Delhi, and Mumbai directly come to Sawai Madhopur. You can reach your accommodation or the park by bus, taxi or a private car from the railway station. The railway station is about 30 minutes from the park gate.

The nearest airport is Jaipur International Airport. The airport is well connected with flights from Indian cities such as Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Chennai and overseas destinations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Bangkok. This distance from Jaipur airport to Ranthambore National Park is about 200km and can be traveled by road or train.

Before going on the Ranthambore Safari, there are a few questions that might arise in your mind. We have tried our best to answer all possible queries to give you a clearer picture.

The safaris are 3 hour and 30 minutes long.

To book a safari, you require a Photo ID (Aadhar card, Voter ID, driving license) or passport details if you are not a citizen of India. Please carry the same ID provided at the time of booking for your safari as well.

Safaris are non-refundable.

The timings of the park vary according to the season. During summer, the daylight hours are longer so the safari starts later in the evenings and exit is also later. Please refer to the table for all the details.

This distance from Jaipur airport to Ranthambore National Park is about 200km and can be traveled by road or by train. There are bus and taxi services available at the airport to reach Ranthambore National Park which is located in Sawai Madhopur district.

It is recommended to book your safari in advance. You can book your safari 90 days in advance.

The park is open from October to June. The best time to visit for tourists would be from mid October to mid December and end January to mid April. The months of May and June are extremely hot but if you are prepared to take the heat you can visit during these months too.

It completely depends on your luck! Ranthambore National Park is not a zoo and the animals are not captive. These animals are in their natural habitat and roam about freely. If you are at the right place at the right time, be sure to spot a tiger. Our trained guides and drivers try their best to get you a sighting!
